All of our trainers are accomplished athletes in a variety of sports but most importantly they bring a wealth of professional and academic experience to their work as trainers. They love what they do every day and it shows in their attention to detail, motivation and effective leadership styles on the gym floor.

Jackie Lind
Lead Coach
Jackie knows a thing or two about training and has been working as a trainer and group exercise instructor since the late 1990’s. Her first sport was gymnastics which has led to a love of balance, flexibility, strength and coordination work which Trailhead specializes in! She raced as well as coached triathlon teams for many years in the Seattle area. Jackie brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to our team – a fantastic coach that you will look forward to have teaching our Strength+ and Power+ classes.
She will ensure you have the tools and confidence needed to reach your goals – and deliver it with a healthy dose of common sense advice! You will love her positive energy and the fun vibe she brings to all the workouts she leads. Jackie enjoys running with her friends at Trailhead when she’s not spending time with her two kiddos or golfing with her husband.

Brian Ingles
Owner/Coach
Brian started as an intern at Trailhead back in 2016 while earning his Bachelor’s in Kinesiology – falling in love with the art of coaching and problem solving to empower athletes, he went on to work as a coach at Trailhead for 3 years. During COVID, Brian branched out and started Ascent Strength & Conditioning, which now provides training and support to competitive enduro and downhill mountain-bike athletes around the Pacific Northwest. In the Spring of 2022, Brian took ownership of Trailhead.
“My core values include empathy, communication, integrity, and efficiency. I firmly believe in the principle “Trust The Process”. This principle is so central to achieving any kind of fitness goal that inconsistency and impatience will quickly leave you right where you started.
I have over 10 years of personal training and group fitness experience, and have been mountain-biking and snowboarding most of my life. I hold a Bachelors in Kinesiology and a Masters in Exercise Science. I also hold the NSCA CSCS designation and constantly seek out new and current education. I’ve successfully helped the full spectrum of clientele from single mothers to students to master’s athletes to full-time-job-don’t-have-time-for-exercisers!
Reach out and let’s make a plan! I look forward to working with you.”

Sarah Perry
Coach
Trailhead is lucky to have someone so knowledgeable, bubbly and kind taking care of our clients. Sarah was a fellow graduate student at Western with Brian and knows her stuff! Sarah grew up in Bozeman Montana and fell in love with the outdoors, mostly through hiking and camping in the beautiful mountains surrounding Gallatin Valley. After moving to Bellingham in 2014, she got her personal trainer certificate and then went on to complete more education so she could work with a lot of different people who have different fitness needs.
Super cool fact – her background is actually in music, and teaches violin and viola! Sarah completed her masters in Exercise Science while ALSO taking foundation courses from our kinesiology Bachelor’s program to ensure she knew the material.
You will likely see her out on the trails hiking with her dogs, or out on a lake on the paddle board. If there is a chance it’s nice enough to be out on the water, you can bet she’ll be there. She also enjoys backpacking, snowboarding, mountain biking, and swimming in alpine lakes.
Sarah’s philosophy on fitness training is that everything you do should keep your mind and body in the best condition to do what you love. Training at the gym should be one step in keeping your body healthy and able to do the things you enjoy doing.
M.S in Exercise Science
NFPT, Certified Personal Trainer since 2017

Foster Knowles
Coach
We couldn’t be more stoked to have Foster able to lend his expertise and genuine care for client health and performance – he is a solid coach… and DJ on the side!
Foster has his bachelor’s in Kinesiology, worked as a personal trainer for 2 years on WWU’s campus, and loves hiking around the PNW. He also has cared for mountain athletes at Prime Sports Institute in Bellingham, so it’s safe to say he knows his stuff.
Fitness and sports have always been a big part of Foster’s life, whether it was playing lacrosse, skiing, or mountainbiking.
Foster’s personal training philosophy is to emphasize the basic patterns that are foundational and applicable to all movements. Once a sturdy foundation is built, we can help prevent injury through strengthening, optimize athletic performance and help you crush your goals.

Lindsay Tucker
Coach
Lindsay comes to coaching by way of a winding career in molecular biology and computer science. A competitive athlete most of her adult-life, she defines herself as aggressively mediocre at a lot of things: she raced bikes at the elite/pro level, has run ultras for 15 years (50k-100mi) and even dabbled in Triathlon/Ironman. She is a former alpine climbing instructor with the Seattle Mountaineers and has climbed in the Himalayas, Andes and Wadi Rum, Jordan. Lindsay raced City League for a number of years, enjoys ski touring, Nordic skiing and bribing her two little girls with snacks on the bunny slopes of Mt. Baker (the ultimate endurance sport).
As a graduate student in clinical mental health counseling, she is passionate about movement being a part of everyone’s mental health toolkit. Lindsay is an RYT-200 and trauma-informed yoga instructor and coaches endurance athletes with Cascade Endurance. Lindsay completed the Moab 240 Ultra trail run in October 2021 and can be found training in the Cascades.

Curtis Opsahl
Coach
Hey y’all, I’m Curtis Opsahl. My foundation in strength and conditioning began as a collegiate basketball player at Cal Lutheran University. After a stint as an athlete, I began as a strength and conditioning coach for fellow collegiate athletes under Dr. Patrick Holmberg. There, I took all sorts of athletes with many different skill levels through the progressions of Olympic weightlifting— the squat, clean, and snatch.
These days, my attention has changed towards action and adventure sports. You can find me ripping some sketchy lines on a mountain bike, getting worked by a red at Vital, or dodging Jerry of the Day accusations on a ski hill. I now see S&C/ general fitness as a crucial way to extend days on a bike and stay safe(r) from injuries.
In my free time, I can be found working on my E-350 box van conversion or planning my next weekend getaway. I’m a recent transplant from Northern California and feel fortunate to have found a landing place in a community with such a strong interest in the outdoors. I’m always looking for some new areas to explore, so if you have any ideas or want to just chat, come say hi! Thanks Trailhead fam!

Raina Moran
Coach
Hello Trailhead Folks!
My childhood in the big Montana country has directed my love for play in natural spaces.
Hiking, scrambling, backpacking and getting to know the native plants pull me to the foothills and mountains. I have a growing curiosity around plant medicines local to our region and enjoy learning how to incorporate these herbs in a tangible way.
I currently teach power and yin yoga, & have a private massage therapy practice specializing in Myofascial Release and treatment massage.
I believe that a balanced life is driven by the care of our mental, physical, and emotional health. I approach clients from this perspective and move from a holistic framework to address imbalances and restore the body back to its natural state of fluid movement.
Looking forward to seeing you at Trailhead!
